Climbing at the rofan
From alpine climbing to modern via ferratas
Hardly any other mountain region in Tyrol offers more contrasts than the Rofan mountains. Nestled between the Wilder Kaiser and the Achensee. Gentle, lush green meadows on the south side alternate with the rugged, up to 400 meter high north faces of the Rosskopf and the Seekarlspitze. Numerous sports climbing areas and the unique Achensee 5-summit via ferrata, which leads over five central peaks of the Rofan, were created here.
Achensee 5 summit via ferrata
The special 5-summit via ferrata leads over five central peaks of the Rofan Mountains. The starting point is next tot he Berggasthof Rofan. It offers the climbers the opportunity to commit each of the summits individually or even break off early. Beginners do not necessarily have to complete the 2-kilometer tour. The total overrun is reserved for experienced via ferrata walkers (walking time 6 to 8 hours). It is possible to rent the equipment for the via ferrata in town.
